Dwight’s practice areas include TMT, fintech, banking & finance, real estate, and mergers and acquisitions.

Dwight’s work experience pre-dates his joining the firm in 2019.  From 2015 to 2018, his work included serving as a research assistant in the UP Institute for Maritime Affairs and the Sea.

While in law school, Dwight was a finalist in Season 14 of ANC’s Square Off: The Firm Debates. On the other hand, while in college, Dwight received the Program Awardee for Development Studies and served as President of the Ateneo Debate Society.

Experience

Dwight has participated in several matters. His experience has included:

• Advising the infrastructure arm of a technology conglomerate on setting up and operating its proposed fiber optic submarine telecommunications cable system in the Philippines.
• Acting for the potential acquirer in a planned share acquisition of a data center operator in the Philippines.
• Providing legal advice for value added service providers, social media platforms, streaming services, software-as-a-service (SAAS) providers, and other members of the TMT sector on issues with regulations and doing business.
• Reviewing data privacy-related documentation and provided legal advice on Philippine privacy laws for e-commerce, q-commerce sites, social media platforms, and other members of the technology financial services, and business process outsourcing sectors.
• Preparing a data transfer assessment for a social media platform in connection with the Philippines’ compliance with the GDPR.
• Representing and assisting clients in compliance checks and data breach notifications with the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
• Acting for an international payables software provider in the acquisition of a licensed e-money issuer and virtual asset service provider.
• Acting for the lender in a financing agreement with a licensed financing company and Operator of Payment System (OPS).
• Advising credit card companies, payment service providers, remittance platform providers, OPS, and other members of the fintech sector on issues with regulations and doing business.
• Negotiating term loan and financing agreements for clients in the banking, real estate, infrastructure, energy, and finance sectors.
• Advising lending, financing and investment companies on issues with regulations and doing business.
• Advising leading real estate developers on their proposed township projects.
• Conducting due diligence for key members of the energy sector in connection with their real property leases and acquisitions.
